Way back in '93 most NFL teams had one starting RB that got most of the work.
Now most have two or three RB's that get 7-15 touches every game. Is it time we considered expanding the OMFFL rosters and adding a flex spot to the starting lineups?
BRAD: I Think that is do-able.
HENRY: I'm in!
DENNIS: Via email, Steve says No, Tim says yes.
TOMMY: i think its a good idea
MICHELE/SHAWN: I am against the flex position. We are in a 14 team league the talent is already dilluted. If you have an injury tring to pick up someone who is any help to your team will be very difficult. (Shawn)
DENNIS: Michele/Shawn, the whole point is that there is MORE talent (the 2nd RB's on RBBC teams) to fill the flex spot on rosters. I could probably list 14 players.
JIM: i can see both arguments my question is this going to be a flex spot where you can use it for any position you choose or only for RB's as you are saying?
DENNIS: I would use mine for an RB , but no, I'm not thinking it would be restricted to RB's. There probably would be a restriction on which you could begin drafting the flex player.
BRAD: Most league's make the flex spot a RB/WR option. I haven't seen any other position allowed in that spot but I suppose you could make it just a flex position and allow a kicker, a quarterback, or even a defense to fill it.
DENNIS: So the proposal up for consideration would be to increase the roster to 14 by adding a flex spot ( I like QB, RB, or WR), and increasing the starting lineup by one to 8.
Let's discuss this . . .
I'll copy these comments over to the Locker Room, too.
And so I did ;D
