I thought discussing a Keeper League might be good motivation for people to come here and get back in the swing of the traditional message board format. (This format is my favorite, and I think the easiest to use)
We hit a roadblock when we were discussing what a keeper league would look like last season. I've become more familiar with the types of keeper leagues, and I admit what I was looking for last year is really not feasible.
So I'd like to reopen discussions, and suggest we start with the basics:
How about a league where owners get to carryover three players to the next season, but owner's must designate the players as follows (and the actual labels can be changed):
Class A Player Contract: The owner has rights to this player for 3 more seasons. The owner can't own this player in the fourth season unless he has been on another OMFFL roster for one game, dropped by the new owner, and cleared waivers for one week. This owner can never sign this player to a contract position again.
Class B Player Contract: The owner has rights to this player for 2 more seasons. The owner can't own this player in the third season unless he has been on another OMFFL roster for one game, dropped by the new owner, and cleared waivers for one week. This owner can never sign this player to a contract position again
Class C Player Contract: The owner has rights to this player for 1 season. The owner can't own this player in the second season unless he has been on another OMFFL roster for one game, dropped by the new owner, and cleared waivers for one week. If this player is reacquired by the owner during the following season, he may be signed to a Class A or Class B contract at the end of the season.
Well, how's that for a start? ;D
